I don't know what is burning
I don't know how can I.....
I don't know where I kept my words
I don't know , I don't know
I don't know ,I don't know

FAIR COMMENT

On Media Trends and Trial by Media
(A comment is a statement of opinion on facts.)
Kumar Chand Pullagura, 1st Year
Journalism and Mass Communication,
Acharya Nagarjuna University
Abstract: On principle, any company or business, the service to the public is inter-linked. It appears that it has been for the purpose of getting license from the government. The TV channels pay Rs.1.5Crore for the license to the government. Each news channel started its sister concern by paying Rs.1Crore additionally. It spends another Rs.1.5Crore for the establishment. So the total expenditure is Rs. 4Crores. Finally, the run for the financial gain has been speedily targeted. The zeal for the commercial gains shadow the service motto. When we refer the guidelines for down-linking of Television channels issued by the government, it is clear that the Government formed rules and regulations for the electronic media. The channels are supposed to adhere to these rules. The channels are to get permission from the government to telecast any program one month in advance. It is not understood how these channels telecast the program on spot without getting permission from the government. The reporting in print media crossed its limits in the coverage of crime news. The same is carried over to the e-media because the experts from the print media are shifted to this media. Moreover some own these channels. As per the procedure prevailed over – every one has to accept the following four points: 1. The magistrates or the judges1 are the important functionaries in the criminal procedure code. 2. The police brings the accused to the court for the trial to prove his guilt. 3. The court takes its time in completing trial giving ample opportu- nity to the accused to defend. 4. The matter is under subjudice till the trial is completed Need to study: Media is generally the agency for interpersonal communication. Interaction, interchange, sharing and commonness are the various phrases of communication. So the mass communication ought to refer totality of communication. Now we are in mass media. According to Harold Lasswell2, there are three major functions – 1. Surveillance of the environment 2. Interpretation of the information and 3. Prescription for conduction and transmission of heritage. Surveillance is referred to information or news. The entertainment is part of all the three factors. The media is totally dependent on advertising which helps the mass media to survive by business. This has been making the mechanical media to run out of rails. And so the present issue is raised. It is right juncture to mention here that Ben Day3 (in 1833) started selling his New York Sun for a penny instead of six cents - obviously it was a sensation. Joseph Pulitzer4 (in 1883) presented human interested stories, gossips and sensation with scandals. His form of journal was based on sensation which gained readers and became a source for reaching height in circulation in 1890. George Scripps5, brought the word economy, without wasting space for big headlines, enlarged photographs and provided ample scope for news, information, editorial and other essential features. It appears that the print media followed the Pulitzer type of sensation so as to survive and earn large amounts. Of course he was successful. But remember that we should not over do the things for personal gains. So the present situation is under check.. Since there is no limitation by the management, the reporting network has no boundaries. Whether it comes under defamation or not is different matter. But it degrades our judiciary. The object of criminal law6 is to protect the society by punishing the offenders. However no one be punished without a fair trial. A person might be caught red-handed, but he must be adjudged to be guilt by the court. So the accused is to be brought to the court. The police7 is doing their duty prompt in this regard and the court decides the guilt and punishes. The role of mechanical media in reporting criminal offences is under question. Conclusion: The police force is the instrument for the prevention and detection of crime. The Criminal Procedure Code conferred specific powers to carry on their duties. The fact that a FIR is prepared by police means, that the same police cannot withdraw it. It should be presented to the court. The court only can withdraw the FIR. So the case is subjudice.8 The matters or details should not be published, or telecast or not even discussed by either of them in public. So the crime news in newspapers or crime stories in TV channels - are against to the court proceedings. It is to note here that the governments did not have a network to monitor daily telecast of around 25 national network channels and 5 local channels in each state. The government could initiate actions when one reports. Mr. Hanumantha Rao, a parliamentarian, met the Governor of A.P two months ago and requested him to initiate action on TV channels to stop telecasting the crime stories. Who can stop this? As per law it is certainly the police. It has the network to read news papers and view the TV channels. The police should take this situation serious and should be ready to file cases against the reporter, the presenter and the management of the newspaper or the channel. Then only this nature of the mechanical media can be in limit regarding the matters of the court.

Holy Beginning...

Hangover
Of sleeping still
Devotional song couldn't disturb the sleep
The UPS is not connected
The CPU has not come into the line
To design what to plan for the day
Totally deep sleep prevails over.
The kitchen is on its way
The cooker wistle thrice
The pan hissing
The two children were wokeup by mother's repeated alerts
(Almost like a bark)
It's eight when they come out of the bathroom
Still the father is sleeping
And children left without wishing the dad
But bid adieu to mom.
Mother too left for her job.
Just now he wokeup.
It appears sleeplessness hangover
Uneasy - shouting over phone
He is on his legs for the day atlast
Could it be a safe journey?
The past was the evidence - may or may not
How many are in the habit of
Make a holy beginning every day in the morning?

Observation of the eye

Observation is the attitude of a person which can give a valuable feedback. It is very useful in the life.Observation is the aspect which will be helpful in the future.Observation contains eye sight,Listening, talking, brain thinking, movements of various levels. But most probably people are not able to do this observation.Because they don't know what they have to do.But everybody observes the things which happen in thier lives. There are some aspects of the circumstances in the society.Peple cann't imagine that these incidents may happen. But we need to observe the things for the sake of our lives.
In human life there are certain levels of thinking. In the first stage is the childhood.Often the children cry for somthing.Because they observe something and they wanted to get that item or any thing. It is an example for the observation. The second stage is teenage. The most important stage in which the charector of the personality is taking its shape. In general the teens are very much interested to observe the things in the society. But they dont have any strong knowledge about anything. The third stage is the young age. There might have a change in human attitude in the young age.Because they have had the goals.Thats why they observe the happenings carefully and in due course, they decide how to draw the plan. The fourth stage of a life is middle age.Middle age means the experienced thinking in the human psychology. In this age the person seriously observes the happenings in the life and he plans the things which can be helpful to the family. The fifth stage is the old age in which fullfledged experience will be the outcome in the life.In this age, there may not be wrong decisions.Because they observe the things and happenings of a life and finally decide what can be done and what cannot be done.In all stages there would be an observation in the human life. Some persons are aware of this observation and some are not.But everybody has this skill.
How many people are concerned with the observation?
Everybody has thier own opinions about the observation. Some use to see the hypothesis, some use to analise the things, some use to see the future, some use to add the good thing to thier lives,Some use to chalenge thier lives, some desirous to have experience Observation is the most important aspect in the human life.
Every person has own observation about the education, profession, lifestyle.Every person has own observation about the society, but nobody has the jeal to change the society.
If the person has that jeal to change the society,we have to identify the things by observation and react to the concerned things. It might become a revoulutionery change in human life.

A poor women who is crying on a road, when I was in journey

I stopped my journey

and curiously and closely observing her;

But I cann't understand whats going on there,

After sometime one person came,

And he is trying to convencing her

Ummhuumm.....she is not ready to convence

I really wondered and I wanted to know why she is crying,

My foot taken my steps to reach her and I ask her,

What happend sister?

She said that"I lost my money",then

I said "Dont worry I shall give you money and please stop crying

But she didn't stopped crying and she said"That money was came from my hard work and my sweat.I want only my money,I don't want other money.

At that time I was shocked

I felt very happy to see poor women's honesty.

Repine

Any limits are there,
for pain,sadness and repine
I don't know the length of ocean
But I think I know the length of repine
Some turnings,in this burning heart pain.

My Regards to the great fighter Dani Dennis

Dennis, the dear boy of Lossups breed, born on 23rd september 2005.
The big and milky white puppy, a lazy boy for days together.
Though the biggest of the six born, never dominated others.
I liked it and wanted it to be for a longer time.
The bruce, the other boy,a shorter like his mother dominated dennis for three months.
The unfortunate Bruce expired on 21 Jan 2006.
The other three taken by near and dear.
Dennis and Monica, the younger lived together with mom.
As big as a street dog,Dennis attracted the public by his moves.
He became the watch dog and was verymuch popular.
He started fighting with venemous snakes and killed five them.
The August 6th was the unlucky day for it.
As usual he jumped on the cobra and in due course bitten by it.
Ofcourse Dennis broke it in to pieces.
The poison spread speedily all over the body.
The great fighter finally lost his life.
He has not been forgotten for days and months together.
Still he is alive in our hearts.
